30 years of Beijing - Women´s effective leadership and entrepreneurship as drivers of change (CSW69 Side Event).



This event will focus on presenting different national experiences and civil society initiatives to brainstorm and strategize actionable steps to keep on working on closing the gender gap.

By highlighting the role women play in feeding families , communities and the world, the World Food Programme (WFP) calls for more women and girls' empowerment . Gender equality is a must for a world of zero hunger , where all women, men, girls and boys can exercise their human rights, including the right to adequate food . According to WFP , 45 million people would have enough to eat by closing the gender gap on farm productivity .
