The United Nations Headquarters the  International Women’s Day 2025 event just wrapped up. The full cast of the Broadway show SUFFs: The Musical was just joined by 40 students from the United Nations International School in New York on stage in the General Assembly Hall.

By highlighting the role women play in feeding families , communities and the world, the World Food Programme (WFP) calls for more women and girls' empowerment . Gender equality is a must for a world of zero hunger , where all women, men, girls and boys can exercise their human rights, including the right to adequate food . According to WFP , 45 million people would have enough to eat by closing the gender gap on farm productivity .
