For ALL Women and Girls: The Beijing+30 Action Agenda.


The proposed Beijing+30 Action Agenda aims to achieve the following for ALL women and girls:

  • A digital revolution
  • Freedom from poverty
  • Zero violence
  • Full and equal decision-making power
  • Peace and security
  • Climate justice

These six actions have adolescent girls and young women at their core, and financing for gender equality and mobilizing gender data as foundations for change. Together, these six actions will help to realize the vision of the Beijing Platform for Action and accelerate delivery of the SDGs.

Objectives:

Present and launch the Beijing + 30 Action Agenda, building on the Secretary-General's review report and the CSW69 Political Declaration;
Align the Beijing+30 Action Agenda with national priorities and objectives to achieve the SDGs;
Build global momentum to ensure its full implementation.

Measuring Women's Empowerment in Large Scale Surveys (CSW69 Side Event).

CSW 69 Side Event organized by FAO, IFPRI, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. In the past fifteen years considerable progress has been made in measuring women's empowerment . The Women's Empowerment in Agriculture Index (WEAI) , developed by IFPRI in 2010, and its adaptations have been used by 271 organizations in 63 countries. Building on the WEAI, IFPRI, Emory University and Oxford University worked in partnership with the World Bank on the development of a new metric for measuring women's empowerment: the Women's Empowerment Metric for National Statistical Systems (WEMNS) .
