Highlighting women's role in food security.

By highlighting the role women play in feeding families, communities and the world, the World Food Programme (WFP) calls for more women and girls' empowerment.

Gender equality is a must for a world of zero hunger, where all women, men, girls and boys can exercise their human rights, including the right to adequate food.

According to WFP, 45 million people would have enough to eat by closing the gender gap on farm productivity.
