Stories from the Future: Charting a path towards the future girls want (CSW 69 Side Event).

Plan International is partnering with a group of girls and young women in the months leading up to CSW69, to not only advocate towards Member States on their key priorities and recommendations for the Beijing+30 review, but also to use creative storytelling to communicate their vision for the future to decision-makers. These stories will center on key themes, such as education, violence against women and girls, SRHR, girls in crisis and girls' leadership. Using the power of stories, we aim to inspire all levels of government policy makers and other power holders to take urgent action.

This event will present the "Stories from the Future", developed by girls and young women from around the world, through creative modalities. This will take an inter-generational approach to look at the progress and gaps during the last 30 years since the Beijing Platform for Action and then look ahead to the future girls' want in 30 years from today. Panelists will then be invited to reflect on the content and spirit of the stories and discuss concrete steps to achieve the future laid out in the stories.View less
