Thanks to the Women who shaped the Universal Declaration.




The US former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt's leading role as chairperson of the drafting committee of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights has been well documented. But, other women also played essential parts in shaping the document. We highlighted some of them and their contributions to the inclusion of women’s rights in the Universal Declaration. Gender equality is a must for a world of zero hunger , where all women, men, girls and boys can exercise their human rights, including the right to adequate food . According to WFP , 45 million people would have enough to eat by closing the gender gap on farm productivity .
