Turning Pledges into Progress: Operationalizing the Pasay Declaration on Women, Peace, and Security (CSW69 Side Event).


To build on the momentum generated by the ICWPS, the side event will serve as an important follow-up to advance the operationalization of UNSCR 1325, its related resolutions, and the Pasay Declaration on WPS.

Objectives:

The side event aims to explore actionable strategies, foster multi-stakeholder collaboration, and mobilize resources to operationalize the Pasay Declaration. By convening key actors and partners, the event seeks to translate the commitments of the Pasay Declaration into concrete actions that will drive the Women Peace and Security agenda forward.

The side event aims to achieve the following objectives:Identify key strategic recommendations for the implementation of the Pasay Declaration;
  • Explore a shared vision among its actionable steps to accelerate their
  • implementation; and
  • Engage relevant stakeholders during the discussions on resource mobilization, policy
  • integration, and capacity-building efforts that will ensure the recommendations'
  • alignment with national and regional WPS priorities.

CSW69 side event organized by the Republic of the Philippines in partnership with the
Governments of El Salvador (TBC), Jamaica (TBC), Namibia (TBC), and Slovenia with the
support of Global Network of Women Peacebuilders and World Federation of Women
Peace International.
