Women's equality is a human rights issue.




On the panel in Geneva, Claudia Fuentes, this year’s Vice-President of the Human Rights Council, turned the spotlight onto a new report showing a backlash in one in four countries against women’s rights reported by UN Women. Ms. Fuentes warned that decades of progress risk being reversed.


“When women and girls, half of humanity, are denied their human rights, society as a whole loses its potential,” she said.
