Access to Justice for Women: Pathways to Care, Recovery, Resilience, and Sustainable Peace (CSW70 Side Event)

 

 This side event, organized by Lebanon in partnership with the Arab Women Organization (AWO) and UN Women, will explore how inclusive, survivor-centered, and gender-responsive justice systems can support women's recovery and resilience in conflict and crisis contexts.
The discussion will take a holistic perspective, with particular attention to women and girls from marginalized groups, working women in both formal and informal economies, and women engaged in unpaid and underpaid care work across the Arab region.

Measuring Women's Empowerment in Large Scale Surveys (CSW69 Side Event).

CSW 69 Side Event organized by FAO, IFPRI, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. In the past fifteen years considerable progress has been made in measuring women's empowerment . The Women's Empowerment in Agriculture Index (WEAI) , developed by IFPRI in 2010, and its adaptations have been used by 271 organizations in 63 countries. Building on the WEAI, IFPRI, Emory University and Oxford University worked in partnership with the World Bank on the development of a new metric for measuring women's empowerment: the Women's Empowerment Metric for National Statistical Systems (WEMNS) . Under the umbrella of the 50x2030 Initiative to Close the Agricultural Data Gap , FAO contributes to the uptake of the metric integrating WEMNS in agricultural surveys of three partner countries: Sierra Leone, Liberia and Tanzania.
